Product Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Product Manager to join our rapidly growing post-Series A startup. As the leader of product management, you will drive the development and execution of our product strategy, ensuring that our innovative energy storage solutions meet market needs and align with our company vision. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to bring our groundbreaking products to market.The Product Manager will be expected to articulate OKRs for the position and demonstrate the ability to achieve metrics-oriented results. The position is located at RedoxBlox’s San Diego headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy Development
- Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and customer needs.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define product specifications and prioritize features.
- Product Expertise
- Become the go-to expert on all details related to your product or family of products.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of customer needs, including cost, technical specifications, installation, system integration, and ownership considerations.
- Market Analysis
- Assess the addressable market and evaluate how changes to product parameters could impact market dynamics.
- Understand potential customer segments and their specific technical requirements.
- Compliance and Standards
- Compile the technical and environmental standards that products must adhere to, including necessary certifications and testing for compliance.
- Analyze geographic requirements for product standards, determining whether they apply globally or regionally.
- Technical Collaboration
- Partner with technical teams to understand the broader implications of potential product improvements.
- Ensure product developments align with both customer needs and technical feasibility.
- Sales Partnership
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand commercial objectives and support customer engagement.
- Develop customer-facing materials that accurately reflect product benefits and features.
- Change Management
- Own the formal change management and specifications process for product modifications initiated by sales, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Ensure all product changes are carefully evaluated and documented.
- Lead the prioritization of product development features and changes, ensuring alignment with the product vision and company objectives.
- Clearly communicate the costs and benefits of proposed changes to stakeholders.
- Documentation and Support
- Maintain the product handbook, detailing key aspects of the product from technical, installation, and maintenance perspectives.
- Support the sales team with product training and customer engagement strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and support product launches.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and refine product offerings.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership on product performance and market insights.
- Customer Advocacy
- Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded.
- Conduct user testing and gather feedback to inform product enhancements.
- Innovation and Trends
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.
- Foster a culture of innovation and encourage creative problem-solving within the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in energy or technology.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools.
- Certification in product management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
- Experience with market analysis and understanding customer needs.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with technical and sales personnel.
- Familiarity with product compliance and certification processes is a plus.
