Policy and Regulatory Affairs Lead
Job Summary
We are seeking a Policy and Regulatory Affairs Lead to join our rapidly growing post-Series A startup. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping our public policy agenda and building relationships with government stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels. Your work will be critical in advocating for policies that support the growth of our innovative energy storage technologies and drive favorable regulatory outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development and Advocacy
- Monitor and analyze public policy trends related to energy storage, renewable energy, and decarbonization.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote Redoxblox’s interests and objectives in the public policy arena.
- Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and other materials to communicate our stance on relevant issues.
- Government Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulators, and industry associations.
- Engage with policymakers to advocate for favorable policies and funding opportunities that support our mission.
- Represent Redoxblox at industry conferences, hearings, and public meetings.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to align public policy initiatives with business objectives.
- Engage with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and advocacy groups, to build coalitions that support our policy goals.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations affecting our industry and operations.
- Advise leadership on regulatory changes and their potential impact on the business.
- Research and Analysis
- Conduct research on energy policy, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Analyze the implications of proposed legislation and regulations on Redoxblox and the broader energy sector.
- Communications and Reporting
- Develop communication strategies to effectively convey our policy positions and achievements to internal and external audiences.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership on policy developments, advocacy efforts, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, or a related field, preferably in the energy or environmental sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy policy, energy markets, utility rate structures, regulatory processes, and government operations.
- Proven ability to build relationships with government officials and key stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and actionable recommendations.
